We are delighted that the CIES 2023 Official Website and the Online Submission System are both live as planned on June 15, 2022!
Due to the unusual early meeting dates on February 14-22, 2023, we are short of more than two months in the CIES calendar to prepare for you our next Annual Meeting – CIES 2023. It is not easy to have the two systems both up at the same time in such a short period of time, less than two months right after our last yearly gathering in Minneapolis and online on April 18-22, 2022. With your blessings, we made them together on time!
CIES 2023 will be an on-site meeting with online components on February 14-22, 2023, opening online first then moving to Washington, D.C afterwards. The new meeting dates are extended from our original schedule on February 18-22, 2023, discussed and decided by the Executive Committee Meeting on June 8th, 2022, based on latest available information for options. The Meeting Break on February 16-17 will allow on-site attendees and the organizing team to travel to Washington, D.C. right after the two Online Days on February 14-15. Please pay special attention to the Important Dates, so that you will not miss any of them.
We will continue to share exciting details and more updates about our organizing work for CIES 2023 down the road, and we are aiming at a more equitable, diverse, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating annual gathering for every and each of you on February 14-22, 2023 in Washington, D.C. and online!
Now you can really start to get excited!
The first thing for you is to use either a CIES Membership ID or a SUBMITTER ONLY ID and password to log into the All Academic System to submit your proposal to CIES 2023.
Within the system you will be able to submit proposals for one of many options including papers, posters, pre-conference workshops and New Scholars Dissertation and Publications Workshops.
If you are unfamiliar with how to use All Academic, we also have handy instructions in our website. The portal will remain open over a period of nearly two months until August 8th (Monday) – but please don’t wait until the last minutes to submit yours. We have tried our very best to calculate this deadline, as we can’t afford any delay for CIES 2023 due to the significant shorter time for planning and preparation! You may have already noted that there are some equivalent associations that have submission deadlines set in summer much earlier than ours, but their meeting dates next year are months later than ours. Again, we remind you to submit your proposals as soon as possible, but NO LATER than August 8th.
The success of CIES 2023 relies largely on the strong commitment and generous support from each and every participant like you. Submitters to CIES 2023 can also contribute to the global community by serving as volunteer peer reviewers. The process of blind peer-review adopted by CIES 2023 is in fact full of learning and collaborative opportunities, beneficial for exploring how research may be advanced and enhanced in quality and unique ways. Please do sign up for the voluntary work when you are submitting to CIES 2023 – our online submission has been revamped this year to offer such great opportunities for all submitters!
You are also warmly invited to submit to us your Written Response – an essay around 3,000 words responding to the CIES 2023 Theme in your unique and inspiring ways. Your Written Response will be a great opportunity indeed for you to brainstorm your proposal for CIES 2023. We plan to edit all these Written Responses into a book after CIES 2023, and we are looking forward to receiving yours in a MS Word attachment (APA style) together with your photo to cies2023@cies.us with “Written Response” in the subject line.
