The CIES 2023 Online Meeting Hub (“The Hub”) opens on February 1, 2023. The Hub is where ALL participants (both online and on-site) will find and access sessions for CIES 2023.
Online sessions scheduled on the two online days on February 14-15, including the Pre-Conference Workshops, concurrent sessions, Book Launches, Posters, Plenary Sessions, and Zoom Socials, will all be available in the Hub. In addition, select livestreamed key plenary sessions on-site, such as the Presidential Address, Invited Keynote Talks, and the State of Society, will also be made available synchronously online.
Online sessions will be available five (5) minutes before each session, with presenters, chairs, and discussants having access 15 minutes before their own session to coordinate with the technical host.
After the Hub is launched, you can login using the ID and password you created to register for the conference. This would be either your CIES member ID or CIES Guest ID (non-members) and password. It is important that you know what email ID you used to register to login or in order to reset your password.
As a Hub online attendee, you will have access to:
Synchronous Online Presentations
All sessions have a scheduled presentation time. Some are scheduled online (Feb. 14-15) and some are on-site (Feb. 18-22). Only some are live streamed for access to both on-site and online participants
Online Roundtable Presentations are similar to the other sessions that are using Zoom. The difference is that each roundtable will be in a breakout room. When you enter the Zoom room for roundtables, you will select the breakout room that corresponds to your session.
Online Asynchronous Presentations
Online Book Launches and Posters will be uploaded for asynchronous presentations and will be available for the duration of CIES 2023.
Registrants are invited to visit these Online Book Launches and Posters – with links provided in the Online Meeting Hub – at any time during CIES 2023. Leave comments in the Chat, and feel free to return to see the conversation as it evolves throughout the week.
There will be support for Hub online attendees:
A training video will also be made available on the Hub page to provide additional support in navigating the space. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the Hub beforehand, and to not wait until the last minute to try your log-in for the first time. Tech support is often in high demand at this time, and we would like to be able to assist you in advance of the conference should any problems arise.
